50+ Adults

Look for 50+ adults in these places:

  • Churches, mosques, or other places of worship.
  • Businesses and corporations that have groups for retirees and pre-retirees.
  • Senior centers, clubs, AARP chapters, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offices, the neighborhood, local restaurants and businesses that seniors frequent, and associations.

More than ever, adults age 50+ want to use their skills and expertise in their volunteer jobs. Identify specific skills and competencies that could benefit your program (retired teachers, cooks, nurses, accountants, mechanics, lawyers, tradesmen, or others) and then develop a strategy for contacting these groups in your community. For ideas, ask a retired nurse, teacher, or accountant how they stay in touch with each other.
