Across the country, innovative 50+ volunteer projects are beginning to reshape civil society. But for a true civic renaissance to occur, national and local organizations must continue to support and propel this movement.
Volunteer Centers across the Country are playing a critical role in helping nonprofits effectively engage and utilize 50+ volunteers in new and innovative ways. Volunteer resource managers - those who are on the front lines working with volunteers - are trained and supported by Volunteer Centers who provide it as part of their essential services.
Innovative volunteer projects that leverage their experience, skills, and freedom, provide 50+ adults challenging and rewarding opportunities to define this next chapter of their lives.
At the same time, increasing demands and dwindling resources threaten the capacity of nonprofits. Recognizing this win-win opportunity, the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network are working to expand, redefine, and deepen 50+ volunteer opportunities to meet this growing need.
