Task Force

The purpose of the Neighboring Task Force is to create awareness, build capacity, and strengthen the commitment of Affiliates to promote, implement, and advance volunteer practices and initiatives that engage and serve low-income families and communities

The Task Force will improve the Network’s access to quality resources and support to better:

• Connect people to opportunities to serve, by reaching out to diverse, untapped and generally underserved communities
• Build the capacity for effective local volunteering, by providing volunteer management training, consultation, and other resources to help organizations understand and work better with low-income volunteers (the Task Force will promote 3 training curricula developed to achieve this outcome).
• Promote volunteering, be engaging in activities to foster the value of volunteering throughout the community, including by and with generally underserved people.
• Participate in strategic initiatives that mobilize low-income volunteers to meet local needs and building opportunities for collaboration to address community issues.
